HOLE GUIDE
TEE SHOT : Blast it up the hill and try to keep it out of the trees especially on the left. The fairway snakes to the right so use the group of trees on the right hand side as a guide and aim closer to them than the trees on the opposite side. This should also give you options on the second if you can clear the hill whether you want to have a pop at the green or lay up short of the hazard.
APPROACH SHOT : This is solely dependant on your tee shot as to whether you fancy your chances of taking it on in two or whether you've layed up and have a short shot to the green. If you are attacking it from distance make not that it is more than likely going to be a shot that will be going downhill into a basin and as the fairway cambers slightly from right to left you should aim a bit further right than you would have. With that use the hazard as a visual guide and make sure to add plenty because there's about 20 yards between the hazard and the green so don't be deceived. Make sure to make note that there are 2 nicely placed bunkers both left and right of the front of the green that will snap up anything that is charged through, this may be a help if you has too much gas on, but if you have laid up and fancy chipping on it's not the worst green to attack and should be relatively unexposed from the elements unless the wind's coming from your back so you can take it in high and land it soft. The key here is not to find the trees because it will bring a nasty end to the day for you.
THE GREEN : It's a unique enough green as it slopes slightly downhill from the start but it's certainly not a slope that would make much of a difference to a shot as it's a relatively flat green that's not too taxing at the end of a rewarding day.
OVERALL TIPS : The key to this hole is distance off of the tee. Obviously you need to be accurate but the further you get down the fairway the more options you will have. If you get to the crest of the hill and a bit further you may stand a chance of going for the green in two. If you have any doubts or feel that you will have to strain to get the yardage lay up because this green is extremely tight to attack and a shot that may be slighty off course could be catastrophic for your round so a well positioned tactical shot could be worth it's weight in gold. Unless you can take it in high you will have to lay up. Once you get within sight of your target you can attack the pin but allow for a few yards of a run on because the ball will more than likely catch a downhill slope. Accuracy is extremely important here. If you find the trees here don't even bother going on, take a shortcut to the clubhouse an head home because you won't be escaping anytime soon out of those. The green isn't too bad so if you are within range of a shot you can be brave just make sure not to rattle it if you're going downhill. A birdie is a possibiliity here but at the same time you could be hacking through bushes and end up with double figures if you are careless. Once your finished here it will be time to reflect on a day that hopefully went well but that you will certainly have enjoyed on a terrific golf course.
OBSTACLES
Trees : Thick trees all the way left with a lesser amount all the way down the right until the hazard but the back of the green is surrounded by trees.
Water : You might think that a stream goes across the portion before the green but don't be fooled, that's full of stones but it is still a hazard.
Bunkers : There's none until you approach the green and get over the hazard then you have 3 greenside bunkers one at the front left and another at the front right with the final one back right which really tighten up the green approach.
