HOLE GUIDE
TEE SHOT : This is a smashing driving hole for more than one reason. You're greeted with a smashing view and from the elevated tee you are given the full sight of a drive that will test your accuracy and tempts you to open the shoulders and blast it. The fairway does tighten up towards the usual landing area due to the bunker and on the far side the clubhouse to try to play the left to right fade and slip it through the middle if you can. This will set up the rest of the hole for you.
APPROACH SHOT : The green goes slightly uphill so you can try to chase it up if you wish. After your downhill drive you may have a shortish second here so send it in high if your can and get it to land softly. Anywhere on the green will be a good shot so don't get greedy and try to bring the bunker into play. A good shot will set up a par at least here. If you do need to miss it here leave it short.
THE GREEN : It's slight uphill from the front of the green but it does have a slightly upturned bowl aspect to it. Perhaps it would be more of an upturned dinner plate as it's not too extreme at the sides but it does tend to slope away to the sides so give it time when you are reading the putts.
OVERALL TIPS : So a rewarding days golf comes to a close and what a view you have when you step up on the tee. This is a perfect hole to be aggressive with and you can let fly with a slight left to right fade here. Be advised that any kind of shot from the tee will be affected by the wind due to the height it's coming from and the drop it's taking so factor that in. Once you've made sure of staying out of trouble with your first then it's a handy enough shot slightly uphill to the green. There's a good chance of getting a decent result here and with a putt or two you could be walking off with a handy par to finish a great day and challenging day off golf. Make sure that it won't be the last time you grace the course but if it is you won't be forgetting it too rapidly.
OBSTACLES
Out Of Bounds : All the way up the left you'll see a few houses, as you can imagine their back garden is out of bounds. Also anywhere around the clubhouse is regarded as a no go area plus you can think again if you fancy playing a shot from inside the greenkeepers shed.
Water : None, although from the tee you could be forgiven for thinking that the ocean is a factor. Unless you've rocket's as arms then it isn't.
Bunkers : There's a lovely positioned bunker right in the firing line for someone who wants to cut the dogleg corner or someone who overdoes the fade so watch out. There's also a tricky shallow bunker to the left of the green to contend with.
